Our Mission & Vision

UP in KY members are committed to work together , and share information and expertise in order to enhance and improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities and their families. We are dedicated to providing accurate, timely, and pertinent information to children, youth, and young adults with disabilities and their families so they can make informed decisions.

UP in KY is a functional, non-compensated partnership to enhance each others' work on behalf of children, youth and young adults with disabilities and their families. The intention is to collaborate with each other, reduce duplication of effort and help determine and influence policies. UP in Kentucky is led by a group of statewide consumer and family leadership organizations, private and public agencies, and federally or state funded projects. In the future, membership will be expanded.

This joint effort includes, but is not limited to:

reciprocal membership on committees and advisory board
shared communication vehicles such as meetings, web sites, newsletters, announcements or distribution of information to constituents
exploration of opportunities for joint ventures, such as: presentations, conference planning and attendance, journal articles and guidance materials
sharing expertise
